A Young Blood’s Calling
Last March 04, 2018. The ordinary out of town trip turned into an avenue to be an emergency responder on a vehicular accident in La Castellana. MTR Bacolod member Princess Jan Villanueva who was just enjoying a free time escapade in the area witnessed a motorcycle that slide on a curve road due to som
e grainy sand. Since the responder prepared a simple first aid kit on her travel, Princess did not allow her naturally shy nature to govern her at that moment, but instead stepped up and tapped the patient for treatment. Although the female patient was spared from a greater injury due to her upper and lower motorcycle safety gears, still she suffered swelling and hand abrasion.
A road accident may seem to be a perplexing instance to anticipate, it should remind us all to observe extra ordinary diligence every time we are in a road journey. Should one’s fate be in harm’s way, a good Samaritan will always come forward on that moment of darkness.
Princess Jan Villanueva is Mountain Tigers Search & Rescue Bacolod’s youngest active rescuer since the group was reorganized last January 21st 2018. In her veins a rescuers blood runs a blood that is so pure, one that is worth to be called a tiger.
