Shade of Danger
A once refuge for pedestrians and students of Mansilingan Agro Industrial High School from the scorching sun by noon time turned into a ticking life taker. A branch of a seasoned tree inside the school campus broke, but part of it remained hanging on its main trunk. This was due to the strong winds last February 27, 2018. Mr. Arlan Sitaca, one of the head faculty of the school asked assistance from the Barangay and from DRRM Bacolod
to have the broken branch cut down before any untoward incident will happen.
In connection with R.A. 10121 of the Philippine Disaster Reduction and Management Act of 2010 for risk reduction, three of the rescue teams in Bacolod participated on the said clearing operation. Those who took part were the Bacolod Chamber, CROPER and Mountain Tigers Search & Rescue Bacolod.
Just like the saying by John Heywood that “Many hands make light work.” This holds true when three of the rescue teams worked as one chariot on the said operation. It did not take long for the group to remove the hanging hazard for the passing folks.
MTR Bacolod members who participated on the activity were Unit Commander Albert Brian dela Torre, Deputy Commander Reynold Diosana, Operation Commander Gerald B. Buelba, Chief Medic Karlo Villadelgado EMT., and BOD Abraham Villanueva.
We care, we serve so that others may live.
