A Victim and a Rescuer's Joust
Early this morning around 02/26/18 1:20 A.M. Bacolod hotline asked assistance for a reported MCI (Multiple Casualty Incident) at Barangay 6 in front of Pala-pala Market. MTR Bacolod Chief Medic Karlo Villadelgado EMT., MTR Bacolod Secretary Antonette M. Villanueva, MTR BOD Abraham Villanueva and MTR Business Correspondent Alberto Abay responded to the call together with Kabalikat and UNTV for the ambulance.
One of the male patients who suffered the major blow of the accident was even uncooperative to be brought to the hospital due to liquor intoxication. It took a while for the rescuers to talk to the victim and finally decided to forcefully constrain him for the safety of the rescuers and for the patient’s immediate medical treatment.
It is an eye opener to know that despite the rescuer’s noble purpose to help, they still face perils on oneself from the very person they wanted to save. As the rescuer’s coming from different units slowly dispersed from the accident site, these unsung heroes left with a fat heart that they had helped again members of society whom were distressed at the wee hours of darkness.
