Road Samaritan
Early this morning Feb. 18 2018 at around 2:00 A.M., on a pitch black road we passed by a motorcycle accident along Ceres Village, Felisa Road on our way to Barangay Handumanan to deliver some goods at MTR 307’s father in law. We immediately parked the vehicle on a safe zone and responded on the scene. Since there were no first responders yet at that time, our very own MTR Bacolod Deputy Operation Gerald B. Buelba and MTR Bacolod Chief Medic Karlo Villadelgado attended on the injured patients. Those who were treated on their injuries was the driver of the motorcycle Mr. Efren Arabia, 26 years of age, single and Mr. Jayson dela Torre 16, single who happen to be a pedestrian injured. Both were residents of the same Vilage.
According to Mr Arabia, he was on his way to work when he accidentally swiped Mr. dela Torre who happens to be walking along with two other pedestrians. He also added that upon surprise of the three pedestrians on the road, he tried to avoid a greater casualty of hitting the other two pedestrians by turning the motorcycle on the other direction which caused him to fell off from his motorcycle.
The driver sustained some upper and lower extremity aberrations and complained of pain felt on his upper left rib area. While dela Torre suffered a possible fractured lower left leg and aberrations. As soon as the ambulance from CROPER team arrived, MTR Bacolod endorsed both patients. They were brought to Corazon Locsin Provincial Hospital for further treatment.
Road accident knows no time or location when it strikes. We are glad that with MTR Bacolod’s emergency rescue training and top brass trainers made us ready to serve the community anytime when necessity arises.
