Head Injury

Mountain Tigers Search & Rescue Bacolod responded on a head injury after a member of the team was approached by a fellow employee of the injured person who was accidentally hit by a G.I Pipe that caused a head laceration. The incident happened around 5:33 P.M. 02/07/18 at Mansilingan, Bacolod City in one of the Vulcanizing shop along the highway. It was located in front of Flying V gas station at Hermelinda Homes Subdivision.

The cause of the accident was when the patient tried to remove a tire knot with a wrench that was suspended with a GI pipe. While the vulcanizing employee was pulling down the pipe to loosen the knot, the pipe accidentally slipped off the wrench and hit the man’s head. The patient is a 26 year old male and a resident of Brgy. Mansilingan.

MTR members who responded on the call were Unit Commander Brian Dela Torre, Deputy Commander Reynold Diosana, Chief Medic Karlo Villadelgado and MTR Board Members Arnel Sobrevilla and Abraham Villanueva. The team immediately focused on stopping the bleeding, checked the patient’s vital signs and properly treated the injury. Patient was also informed, if he wished to be transported and admitted to the hospital. The patient refused due to financial reason, but was advised by the team to go to the Brgy Office to get a Certificate of Indigence so that it can help him for his hospital treatment should he decide to do so.
