Basyang Watch
Last February 13, 2018 Mountain Tigers Search and Rescue Bacolod conducted its operation Basyang Watch. The Bacolod Rescue unit made an earnest effort to aid any untoward emergency or search and rescue need around Bacolod during the height of Tropical Depression Basyang passing in Negros Occidental. The team coordinated with Bacolod’s Hotline in preparation for any call that requires search and rescue assistance on low areas which might be flooded due to possible heavy rains within the city’s jurisdiction.
MTR members who joined the weather stakeout were Bacolod Unit Commander Brian dela Torre, MTR Deputy Commander Reynold Diosana, Operation Commander Gerald Buelba, Chief Medic Karlo Villadelgado, and joined with Antonette M. Villanueva, Abraham Villanueva and Alberto Abay.
While on standby the group made sure to efficiently arranged its medical and floating devices should flood related calls were made. MTR Bacolod prepared for the worst, but hoped for the best. From the start of operation until it ended, we were pleased that Bacolod was spared for any flooding or weather related accidents.
